Felix is a happy man.
Serving a life sentence because of the crimes committed by his gang, this big black man looks like he has reached a state of nirvana in his 9 square meters cell, which is covered with his drawings; a world filled with pastel colors and peaceful landscapes. His state of fulfillment feels like an insult to the bitter chief warden, who is decided to make Felix fall into despair, like the rest of the inmates of this prison.

Jailbirds is the adaptation of the short story Paulot s’évade, written and drawn by Philippe Foerster, and published in Fluide Glacial magazine in the late 1980’s.
